At first she joined in TDP party by expecting an MLA seat. But, she has resigned the party when the MLA seat is not offered to her. After seeing her active participation in the social issues, YSRCP has allotted MLA seat in Chilakaluripet constituency. In 2019 general elections, She has secured more than 50% of votes and won with a big majority on her opponent Prathipati Pulla Rao who is from TDP party.
