Movie Verdict
Amid unique and different stories, there is no scope for stereotyped stories but Vaarasudu comes under the second category, we have seen many films with this kind of outdated stories but this film might work for Tamil audiences but for sure Vaarasudu will not work for Telugu audience. The film dealt with an outdated commercial format that doesn’t offer anything new as it seems the film is purely made for Thalapthy fans. The first half went with regular stuff like a solid introduction of the hero, then a song, then the family problem, the heroine’s love track that’s it, and then if the conflict could be better then the film could have been better to some extent. However, if you’re a fan of commercial and family drama films then the film has all the elements.
The second half also has the same pace and same treatment but this time emotions take charge and is good for a while but over a point, it feels like a lecture about the importance of a family and their bindings as this whole track might connect with the family audience but it’s very tough for the rest of the sections except for Thalapathy Vijay fans. The fact is Vaarasudu is an amalgamation of Navdeep’s Gautham SSC, Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikuntapuramlo, Srimanthudu, and many Telugu films.
Technically Vaarasudu looks top-notch Karthik Palani’s visuals make the film look rich and the savior of the film Thaman S, he did a phenomenal job be it songs or background score literally he elevated most of the scenes with his background score in the film and the rest of the team did well.
Vamshi Paidipally rose to fame with some movies like Oopiri and Maharshi and it’s a great opportunity to get a chance to do a film with Thalapathy Vijay but he went with routine and outdated subject as he had done here. Though he dealt with Vaarasudu quite well, but this film will be remembered for a long.
Overall, Vaarasudu is an old-school family drama that will not be for everyone and it is purely made for Thalapathy fans
Plus Points:
- Background Score
- Elevations
Minus Points:
- Outdated Story
- Old School treatment
- Lackluster lover track
