Rao Ramesh starrer Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam has finally been released in theatres and let’s see how the film is.
The story is about a jobless husband Subramanyam (Rao Ramesh) who wanted to do only a government job. Left with no option, he leads a life on his wife Kala Rani’s (Indraja) income. A twist arises in the tale when 10 lakhs are credited to his account.
The core point is pretty simple but the way the director Lakshman Karya blended with a comedy is what makes the film look engaging.
The first half is filled with beautiful comedy, especially Rao Ramesh’s character and his comedy pulls us into the world of Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam and makes us invested throughout the film.
The second half has also comedy but the second has a lot of scope for emotion. Sadly, the director didn’t focus on the emotional part.
Rao Ramesh as Subramanyam is phenomenal. His dialogue delivery and comedy timing are the biggest assets of the film. Indraja as his wife did a meaty performance. Ankith Koyya shines in his role, but Ramya Pasupuleti has no scope to perform. Ajay, Praveen, and others are ok.
Director Lakshman Karya succeded in making us laugh with comedy but he lacks the emotional part in the film and that is why if we look at the overall film, he partially failed.
Overall, Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam has some flaws and it is a one-time watch for comedy.
