Movie Verdict
It’s been a long time since we watched the film with an educational backdrop, and after a long gap, Venky Atluri has come up with this interesting point with the most talented actor in Indian cinema. The film starts off on a slow note, however, it slowly gets into the main plot and the first half went with Dhanush mark’s comedy, Hyper Adi’s one-liners, and an introduction to the education mafia, the interval bang makes us curious to watch the latter half.
The second half where the actual story begins about the education mafia, though the screenplay is predictable Dhanush made you sit for two and half hours. The core point is interesting but the narrative seems a bit outdated and there is not much thrill in the film. The pace of the film dips and rises intermittently with some draggy scenes however, the climax is pretty good.
Dhanush is just perfect in his role, he again shows his mettle in the acting, there are many key scenes in the film he took to the next level with his fine performance, Samyuktha Menon does a fair job in the limited screen presence, Hyper Adi as usual impressed with his mark of one-liners and rest of the cast like Tanikella Bharani, Sanuthirakani, Adukalam Narens did their best as per the story requires.
Kudos to Venky Atluri for selecting this concept after a long gap, what he wanted to convey through the film is very relatable but he tries to blend it with commercial elements which seem misfired, although he succeeded in engaging the audience with his writing.
Technically, Sir is good, J Yuvaraj’s cinematography is the plus point for the film, and GV Prakash Kumar’s songs might work for the Tamil audiences but he was impressed with his background score, and the rest of the technical team did their best.
In conclusion, Sir is a decent film to watch for all sections of the audience and a must-watch film for Dhanush fans.
