Movie Verdict
No matter how the story is, if the comedy worked out in the film then there is a huge chance of the film getting success and the Sridevi Shoban Babu team follows the same formula, the entire first half has nothing new and nothing to engage in except comedy. From the beginning the routine snail-paced and predictable narration gets boring but the right amount of comedy saves the first half.
The second half also has nothing to engage and the pace of the film falls flat with unrelatable conflict and draggy scenes. At least the first half has a few comedy scenes and Hero heroines tom and jerry fight to engage but the second has become a patience tester, the conflict could have been much better to stand out in the second half.
Santhosh Shoban is a good actor but he has come out of his comfort zone to make good movies rather than routine films, he is good as Shoban, and his body language, his dialogue delivery is perfect as a village guy, Gouri G Kishan as Sridevi does a fair job and rest of the cast did their best as per the story requires.
Prasanth Kumar Dimmala come up with a routine comedy-drama and he completely failed in engaging the audience. Technically, Sridevi Shoban Babu is okay, Siddarth Ramaswamy’s cinematography is just okay, and Kamran’s few songs are good but the background score is not up to the mark.
Overall, Sridevi Shoban Babu is a routine comedy-drama, and if you have nothing left to watch give it a try.
Plus Points:
- Comedy
- Santhosh Shoban
Minus Points:
