Makkal Selvan’s 50th movie Maharaja has finally relased in theatres in Telugu and Tamil as well. The interesting thing is that Vijay Sethupathi has aggressively promoted the film more than in Tamil.
The film’s story is about Maharaja, a barber who lives a happy life with his wife and daughter. One day he filed a complaint about missing Laxmi. Who is Laxmi? is all about the film.
The movie starts on a good note and it carries on till the end. The story is simple but what makes the film unique is the non-linear narration.
The director skillfully blended the drama with thrilling elements. However, a non-linear screenplay might cause a bit of confusion for the audience.
The emotions were landed quite well in the film. Vijay Sethupathi shows his mettle in acting. Anurag Kashyap is good despite having less screen time.
Overall, Maharaja is a decent emotional thriller that all sections of the audience should watch.
