Nani and Vivek Athreya collaborated for the first time with Ante Sundaraniki but they were disappointed with the film.
Now, they reunited for the second time with the film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. This time Vivek Athrey came out of his comfort zone and made this mass flick. Let’s see how the film is.
Surya (Nani) has an anger issue but he decided to show his anger on Saturday. Well, a ruthless cop Daya( SJ Suryah) becomes a monster for the Sokulapalem people. Finally, Surya stands behind the Sokulapalem people. How Surya and Daya’s rivalry happens forms the rest of the story.
Vivek Athreya is known for his writing and in this film he came up with the Saturday fight concept. Except that, the writing seems regular.
Nani and SJ Surya’s characters were designed well and that was the saving grace for the film. The first half has passable moments but the second half is a big letdown with snail-paced narration with predictable scenes.
Nani was impressed with his acting but not a challenging character. SJ Suryah did a phenomenal job, he couldn’t take our eyeballs for a second with his performance. Priyanka, Sai Kumar and the rest of the cast did well.
Vivek Athrey made the same mistake as he did in Ante Sundaraniki. He should have trimmed the film for about at least 20 minutes. Especially in the second half, many scenes were unnecessary and feels like stretched out.
Jakes Bejoy did a commendable job with his craft. The songs and background score are the assets for the film. Murali G’s cinematography is also impressive.
Finally, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has a unique point and has some moments but it turns out to be a regular mass flick.
