Dasara Review: Nani’s first pan-Indian film Dasara has been making headlines over the month, he is been promoting the film across the states as he has never done before. The extensive promotions of the film by the team Dasara have succeeded in creating solid buzz all over india. Carrying with the humongous expectations, the film has finally been released today and without wasting much time, let’s get into the in-depth review and find out whether the film is worth watching or not.
Story
Dasara depicts the story of Veerlapalli located in the Godavarikani coal mines, where Dharani( Nani) steals coal from goods trains, and he has a habit of hitting everyone after being drunk and forgets the next day in the morning, on the other side Dhaarani loves Vennela since childhood but Vennela loves Soori and Veerlaaapalli sarpanch elections drastically changed their lives. Dharani, Vennela and Soori’s journey is all about Dasara.

Movie Verdict
Back then we got to see rooted films in Tamil and Malayalam, they used to tell their stories. In Telugu, we are much into commercial films rather than deep-rooted films, but now things have changed completely, Telugu makers are coming up with deep-rooted films like C/O Kancherapalem, Pushpa, and recent sensation Balagam and now Dasara.
Despite the regular revenge action drama, Dasara pulls you into the world of Dasara and makes you part of it with its premise. The biggest advantage of the film is the Coal Mine backdrop and deeper Telangana dialect. The film starts off with an explosive introduction of Dharani with nerve-wracking action, later it dives into Veerlapalli village and there we get to see all the key characters’ establishments. The first half pace dips here and there but it keeps us invested in the story with Dharani and Vennela’s love track, brilliant action blocks, and few comedy scenes, the interval twist is just fireworks.
The second half becomes emotional and intense, though the second half is filled with action, although the drama between Dharani and Vennela is intense and it keeps us engaged and moves us with the emotion. Despite the few flaws Dasara has many moments that keep us invested in the story from beginning to end. Though Dasara looks like it is made for Telangana people because it shows the perfect Telangana culture and their lifestyle, the emotional thread in the film is universal and that lands perfectly in the film.
Talking about performance, Nani is known for the boy next door roles but he will mesmerize you with his performance in the film, as Dharani, his makeover, and his Telangana dialogue delivery are perfect. Especially in emotional scenes he just killed it, and he performed in action sequences with ease, overall Nani has given a clap-worthy performance. Keerthy Suresh as Vennela is superb, it has many shades and she effortlessly pulled it off, but the Telangana dialect could have been much better. Dia fame Dheekshit Shetty has got good character and as Soori he did his best and the rest of the cast like Shine Tom Chacko did his best, Saikumar, Samuthirakani, and Zarina Wahab did their best as per the story requirements.
Debutant Srikant Odela hails from the same area which has shown in the film. He succeeded in bringing the lives of coal mine laborers, the way he blends action and intense drama is quite impressive. Being a debut director he did an impressive job.
Technically, Dasara looks top-notch, Sathyan Sooryan’s cinematography is the biggest plus point for the film, Santhosh Narayanan is the of the major pillars of the film, his songs have already chartbusters and he just killed it with his background score throughout the film.
Overall, Dasara is a beautiful blend of intense drama with action.
