Movie Verdict
The series starts off with dead slow pace narration as it takes a lot of time to get into the actual story, but still, the premise prepared your brain to travel with the series, however, once Vivek takes the charge to investigate the case of a young girl called Velonie from then on the series gets interesting and makes you part of it, the first three episodes have nothing makes you thrill with the investigation as Vivek struggles to find a single clue.
From the fourth episode, the racy screenplay makes it even more interesting and makes you glued to the screen till the last episode, as every episode has perfect cliffhangers that make us curious to watch the next episode, though the series ebbs and flows in the few episodes with the narrative although the detailing investigation process holds our attention, the biggest drawback of the series is the killer motive.
Coming to the performance S.J Suryah was always killed with his performance as Vivek and once again he shows mettle in his acting, and Laila did a decent job, Nasser who has less screen time but he appears in most of the episodes and he did his best and rest of the cast Vivek Prasanna, Hareesh Peradi, Smruthi Venkat, Kumaran Thangarajan did their best.
Andrew Louis partially succeeded with the series as he come up with a regular story but the screenplay is quite good, apart from that he presented a novel thriller with regular scenes, at least if the scenes could have been written fresh then the series would have been much better.
Technically, Vadhandhi is top-notch, right from Saravanan Ramasamy’s cinematography the mood, color tone, and framing of every aspect pull into the film and make you part of it, Simon K King’s background score is good he created curiosity in many scenes with his background score and rest of the team did well.
Overall, Vadhandhi is a regular thriller as doesn’t reinvent the genre but has its own distinctive touch to it and if you are a fan of thrillers you can watch it, other sections of the audience can easily skip it.
