Given that it has already acquired the streaming rights to several eagerly anticipated insane films in Tamil that have not yet been released in theaters, it appears that the Netflix over-the-top platform has set out to become very popular in the Tamil-speaking area.
One of the most anticipated films of 2025 is the actor Suriya’s film “Retro,” which Netflix has already acquired the OTT streaming rights to for an outrageous sum.
However, the film failed to make noise at the box office, and now the film is coming to OTT. Retro will stream on 31 May 2025 on Netflix. The film will be available in Telugu as well.
Joju George, Jayaram, Pooja Hegde, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Nandita Das, Karunakaran, Baby Aavni, Sujith Shankar, and a few others are in the film’s cast in addition to Suriya.
Produced by Suriya and Jyothika under their own label, 2D Entertainment, the film was directed by the gifted Karthik Subbaraj. Shreyaas Krishna was in charge of the camera, and Santhosh Narayanan wrote the music.
